Which animal are you?
Legend has it that one Chinese new
Year the Buddha invited all the animals to come to him. Only
twelve responded, and in the order of their arrival, they
were the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep,
Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. Thanking them, the Buddha offered
to dedicate a year to each of them, which would be theirs
for all time. That year would carry their name, and each person
born in the year of a particular animal would carry its characteristics
in their personality and behaviour. A twelve year cycle was
established. The table below is a rough guide to finding which
animal is yours. You can click on each animal symbol for a
description of its characteristics, and click here

is lunar based, its New Year varies, and comes very roughly
between the last week of January and the middle of February.
